In the middle of an interview with GQ Magazine, completely out of the blue, and having nothing to do with the interview so far, Marco Rubio is asked the following question:
GQ: How old do you think the Earth is?
This was not a mistake, nor was the question asked out of genuine curiosity for Rubio’s answer.
This is what William Jacobson correctly calls the the “crazy-ing” of Marco Rubio.
It has not been lost on the left that many people have speculated in
recent days that Rubio may run in 2016. They’re wasting no time in
trying to destroy him as early as possible.
They have to pigeon hole him into one of three categories. Old, Evil or Stupid.
Since Rubio isn’t old, he must be branded as evil and/or stupid.
What’s annoying to me and many other bloggers is that we can see
these questions for what they are and we usually see them coming from a
mile away.
This is no different than the Republican primary debate hosted by ABC
News where George Steponallofus asked about banning birth control out
of the blue and then beat that dead horse as all the candidates on stage
looked at him in bewilderment.
Republicans still don’t seem to realize that the press is out to destroy them.
They better learn the lesson soon.
