Republicans Not Running For Re-Election In 2018

The 2018 midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 6, will give President Trump his first chance to defend the Republican Party’s Senate and House majorities. Already, however, several Republicans in Congress have announced they won’t be running for re-election. Here’s our running list:

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

After tangling with President Trump, including questioning his “stability” and “competence,” Corker put an end to speculation and announced he would not be running again in 2018. Corker and Trump have since engaged in multiple scraps on Twitter, Corker calling it “a shame the White House has become an adult day care center” and Trump saying Corker “couldn’t get elected dog catcher.”

Rep. Charlie Dent, R-Pa.

Dent, a centrist Republican, announced in September that he’d decided against running for re-election after consulting with family and advisers. Pennsylvania state Rep. Justin Simmons had announced he would challenge Dent in the primary.

Bernie Sanders Will Seek Re-Election As An Independent

On October 22, Sen. Bernie Sanders confirmed in an interview with Fox News that he plans to run for re-election as an Independent in 2018, despite the Democratic Party pressuring him to run as a Democrat.

Great! Sanders in 2020! Split the commie vote and Trumps re-election is in stone. Bernie is only running as an Independent because Socialist is not available. Bernie, I'll stand behind you 99.99% if you make that run in 2020. Hell, I'll even send money to your campaign. This is the best political idea you've had. Yes, this is excellent news, and I hope Comrade Sanders follows through. Split the left/Prog/Dem vote. The other great thing is that Liberals think it is a good idea. But really, this shows you what a shitty condition the Democrats are in when even a senile old Socialist like the Bern declines to run under their label. 

Kathy Griffin: There’s A Nazi In The Oval Office…

Comedian Kathy Griffin on Tuesday labelled Trump “a moron and Nazi,” adding she was sorry on behalf of the U.S. for putting “this guy on everyone else’s lap.”

“I am going to call him a moron and Nazi. Americans are skittish about calling him a Nazi, but he is one,” Griffin told Australia’s Nine Network, according to local media. “There’s a Nazi in the Oval Office.”
