Joe Scarborough Announces He Is Leaving Republican Party

Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” announced Tuesday that he is leaving the Republican Party.
Scarborough, a former Republican congressman from Florida, will say on Tuesday’s episode of Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” that he is leaving the GOP to become an independent, the executive producer of the show tweeted. The segment was taped for the show which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET.
Scarborough has become an outspoken critic of President Trump, although the two were previously thought to be friendly.
