Father Of Victim In Santa Barbara Killings Blames ‘Craven Irresponsible Politicians’ And “The NRA” For His Son’s Death
Via ABC:
The father of a student gunned down in the Santa Barbara rampage raged through tears at the “insanity” that left six students dead along with the gunman.
Richard Martinez’s outburst came outside a sheriff’s department after his son Chris, 20, was confirmed to be among the shooting victims.
“Our family has a message for every family out there. You don’t think it will happen to your child, until it does,” Martinez said. Choking on tears, he added, “His death has left our family lost and broken.”
“Chris died because of craven, irresponsible politicians and the NRA. They talk about gun rights. What about Chris’ right to live? When will this insanity stop? When will enough people say stop this madness,” Martinez said.
“We should say to ourselves, not one more,” he said before collapsing in tears and walking off.
Elliot Rodger, a lonely student who posted YouTubes detailing his inability to get a girlfriend, is the suspect in the shooting. He died of a gunshot wound to the head.
"Mr. Martinez, I am very sorry for your loss, but the answer to gun control is still no. Why is it every one's fault but the lunatics that fire the weapon. Sorry, but I'm past caring for the victim's that allow themselves to be used by the leftist, biased media to help promote their agenda by
blaming law abiding gun owner's instead of the apparently mentally ill killer. And may I add, Americans should not give up their gun rights for anyone or anything. Sorry Mr. Martinez, the NRA is not responsible for your son's death. A single young man with apparent mental health issues is. Perhaps there are some others who had a hand in allowing him to get so far that he killed your son and others, but it was not the NRA or the gun, or even the knife, that did it. Mental health care, or lack of it, is the issue here, and you should address your attention that way. Obviously the family could afford the mental health services for him, but instead they buy him a BMW. Just so happens the killers parent is Hunger Games assistant director Peter Rodger, part of the Hollywood elite. How many 0bowel fundraisers did he attend? The family attorney said Rodger's had "Asperger's syndrome and was in the care of several therapists". He had Asperger's Syndrome and was in the care of several therapists AND WAS LEGALLY SOLD 3 GUNS? Tell us again democrap's how your gun laws work. I suppose the lid to Diane Feinstien's coffin will open and we will have to suffer through her useless bullshit for the next few weeks.
Some were shot, some were stabbed, and some were run over by his car. So let's ban guns, knives, and cars. And hammers to be on the safe side. Mr. Martinez blames the politicians and lax gun control laws. Understandable. Maybe he should move to a state where the gun laws are really strict. Someplace like, oh, Calipornia, that already has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. And what difference did that make? Mr. Martinez, I'm sorry for your loss, but it's people like you and your libtard agenda promoting remarks about guns that prolong the problem. You totally ignore the fact this mentally ill person killed his first three victims with a knife and injured many with his car, yet it's the NRA's fault and they have to give up their guns? They didn't have anything to do with the violence this guy choose to commit. People suffering from sudden tragic deaths in the family often say irrational things, so I will go easy on him. Our anger should be directed at the MSM for milking this man's grief for ratings and their agenda. He should have mourned in silence, or had made a simple statement about his grief, but he chose to squander his 15 minutes of fame by making a left wing political statement. You can never legislate crazy out of existence. I feel for your loss, but I feel your blame is being channeled in the wrong directions." MC
