What did CNN’s Crossfire host Van Jones think when he read President Barack Obama’s latest quote about race in this week’s New Yorker profile by David Remnick? “I thought that actually was a pretty honest and accurate assessment.”
“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black President,” Obama told Remnick during one of their many interviews over the last few months. “Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black President,” he added. “It’s not surprising to me race comes up when you have the first black president, elected so quickly after the Civil Rights Movement,” Jones said. “One thing that’s interesting to me, we have actually in some ways gone backwards.” While it’s gotten “easier” for Americans to talk about issues like gay rights, immigration and “even marijuana,” he said “there’s still this discomfort” when it comes to African-American issues, “and I think President Obama does bring that out in people.”

Maybe Van is tired of hearing all the racist things that Conservatives say. For instance, when Rush Limbaugh said: "Obama is a light-skinned African American with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." That was pretty messed up. Oh wait, I'm wrong, that wasn't Rush. It was libtard Sen. Harry Reid. Sorry. Well then what about when Ted Cruz said: "You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian Accent. I'm not joking!" What a typical thing for a racist Republican Conservative to say. Oh, wait a sec, I forgot that was Uncle Joe Biden. Damn, another mistake. OK, well how about that time that Rand Paul said, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." What a racist statement. He should be ashamed of himself and be thrown out of Congress. Oh shit! I just found out that was Uncle Joe Biden again. The only way racism is the reason that his poll numbers are falling is if the definition of racism changed to mean
