This was alerted to us by LR reader Will from Oregon. Sure enough, buried at the very bottom of a 6 paragraph piece in local Tucson NBC News 4, this little nugget of information:

The governor said the state has a $450 million budget surplus this fiscal year, but details won't be released until later this week.

Editor's comment - Hmmn? A $450 million budget surplus. You'd think that'd make huge headline stories statewide in AZ, and even warrant some national news coverage from CNN, HuffPo, Yahoo News, Daily Beast, certainly NBC national would pick it up. But you'd be wrong. Just some crickets chirping beneath the cactus out there in the dry sands of the Arizona desert.
