Her disfigurement woke the world to the horrors faced by women under the Taleban. Now, Aisha Mohammadzai, or Bibi Aisha as she is widely known, whose nose and ears were hacked off in Afghanistan after she fled an abusive forced marriage, has spoken with hope for her future.
“I have to live, and I have to love,” she told an American news channel. “I am not scared any more.”
