Desperation is in the air, and The Chicago Machine's ugliness is just starting to get ginned up. They've already all but accused Romney of being a "felon" and of murdering Joe Soptic's wife, but now that the polls are moving against Obama – and the President's closing argument has been reduced to Big Bird, binders, and bayonets – President Obama's about launch his own personal freak show starring Jeremiah Wright, Gloria Allred, and Andrew Sullivan.
It all started over the weekend, when former Democratic San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown let the cat out of the bag about Obama reaching out to his 20-year mentor, the racialist demagogue and America-hating Jeremiah Wright:
If Obama looks as if he's going
black, he could turn off white people. So he's largely been lying low on
the race issues - visibly pushing for the Latino vote, the gay vote,
the women's vote, but not the black vote. But last weekend, he held a
conference call with a collection of black preachers that included his
old pastor, Jeremiah Wright. He wanted to talk to them about getting out
the vote.
Predictably, the White House would later throw Willie Brown under the bus.
Today, things got improbably worse when
the Daily Beast's Andrew Sullivan, who has reportedly been a guest of
Obama's at the White House, launched into a punishingly long, bigoted,
desperate anti-Mormon tirade against Romney that burns a warehouse full
of strawmen and employs enough guilt-by-association to choke the ghost of Joe McCarthy:
Romney's response to the white
supremacism of his church was to point to his mother's and father's
secular support for civil rights for African-Americans, which ties in
with Mormon founder Joseph Smith's abolitionist convictions. And there
is no question that Mitt Romney's parents were heroic civil rights
Republicans in the secular sphere - in a party that had not yet become
the South's racial plaything. And I do not doubt Mitt's story about
weeping upon hearing that the "ongoing revelation" had now changed. But
all this evades the key question: what did the Romneys do to confront
their own church's non-secular position on the inherent spiritual
inferiority of blacks?
These are the same passive-aggressive
tactics the monstrous Sullivan utilized for years to mercilessly torment
(to the delight of the mainstream media) Governor Sarah Palin's family.
Obama's infamous Trifecta of Freak-dom ended today with none other than -- you knew this was coming -- Gloria Allred:
"The Boston Globe is headed to
court tomorrow morning for an emergency hearing in an attempt to obtain a
court order to unseal the sworn testimony given by Mitt Romney in a
prior court case and to lift a gag order so that the parties can speak
about Romney. Gloria Allred will be in court representing one of the
parties in the case," a source close to the situation tells
RadarOnline.com.
The emergency hearing will take
place at the Norfolk Probate & Family Court in Canton,
Massachusetts, and Justice Jennifer Ulwick will oversee the proceedings
which will begin at 9 a.m. EST.
And let's give an honorary freak show tip of the hat to Salon's Joan Walsh, who wrote a piece about Romney titled: "The man without a soul."
This is all the man who ran on hope and
change has left: to dogwhistle the dregs of the left-wing fever swamp
to spew desperate venom on his behalf.
Obama has never really been a President of the United
States. He's been too divisive and partisan since the day he took
office to ever achieve that. On his best days, he was the leader of the
Democratic party. On his worst days, he was nothing more than a Chicago
political thug. And now, staring into the abyss with 13 days to go, it
looks as though we're about to see who this man really is.
It will not be pretty. One poll showing Romney up in Ohio and Obama will be asking Bill Ayers to be a poll watcher.
