Benghazi terrorists slew, Obama knew

Way to go, White House. Good job, State Department. Eli Lake at the Daily Beast reports:

Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack,
and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya.
Nonetheless, it took until late last week for the White House and the administration to formally acknowledge that the Benghazi assault was a terrorist attack. On Sunday, Obama adviser Robert Gibbs explained the evolving narrative as a function of new information coming in quickly on the attacks. “We learned more information every single day about what happened,” Gibbs said on Fox News. “Nobody wants to get to the bottom of this faster than we do.”

Everything the Obama administration has been insisting about the attack has been an outright lie, and Obama continues to blame it on some crappy YouTube video. Just yesterday he stood before the UN and said “the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”

That’s nice, throwing in a few words in defense of other religions. But why bring up that dumb video in the first place, Barry, when you know that’s not why all this is happening? Why continue to apologize for American free speech?
Don’t ask questions like that, though, or they’ll tell you to “f*** off.”
We knew there was a terror threat against our people in Libya on 9/11. Ambassador Chris Stevens even wrote about his fears of an attack, in a journal that the State Dept. is now condeming CNN for reporting about. And yet Stevens had almost no security, and the Obama administration has been lying about the whole thing ever since. They’ve scapegoated a private individual, exercising his right to free speech by making a film criticizing a religion, to divert attention away from their own abject failure.
This is a scandal.
