Atheists are threatening to sue over a planned Princeton, N.J., memorial to mark the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on American soil because a metal beam that’s part of the display has a small cutout of a Christian cross.
The beam is the brainchild of a firefighter — who’s Jewish — who says the cross is actually a historic symbol, not religious, on Fox News. The beam was removed from the site of the World Trade Center debris; the cross shape was then cut into it. But American Atheists say the cutout is “grossly offensive,” and members vow to sue the municipality if the memorial goes forth as planned.
The group’s president, David Silverman, insists that the symbol is religious and that putting it on a public site would be a “clear violation of the separation of church and state.”
"It amazes me that these same people have no problem with a Mosque being there but a cross, get rid of it. Truth be told, these God hating assholes are scared shitless of the goat rapers and the time will come when the Christians will be pushed too far. Since atheism is now a religion according to Eric Holder and the DOJ, is any religious organization, be it Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, or Hindu, going to bring a challenge to this on 1st Amendment ground? Now that the US Govt. has declared them to be a religion, it's time for them to start martyring themselves. Atheists are nothing more than f**king cowards. No one is forcing these idiots to believe or worship anything and I have never heard of a cross attacking anyone in modern times. A cross is an innocent Christian symbol, nothing more and nothing less. I dare these fools to demand mosques ban prayer rugs. The atheists are just one of another anti-American commie front group. They focus on christian religion and attack it every chance they get. They attack this pillar of America. They work in line with the other anti-American groups to destroy the country. They seem to have gained much more power since O'Dumbass was elected. I have one word for you:
